Catch Up

Well once again it's time for a bit of catch up on natebot.com

I survived Comic-con. How can one say this politely? Hmmm...maybe soften sentiment with something hackneyed? San Diego is a nice to place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

We had a hotel right there on the water and a room with a view of downtown. The con itself was huge - absu-freakin-huge - and it's far from just comic book properties, retailers, and struggling artists. Geek movie properties reprazent (like the 18-wheel Optimus Prime Transformer semi and Charlize Theron's Aeon Flux) at the con too. Word to your moms. The films will bomb.

But more importantly, I wasn't able to get a decent cup of coffee the whole time I was down there. The last decent cup I had was at seatac airport. An airport had better coffee! Albiet the Seattle airport. To be honest, the convention hall did have a starbucks, but as we all know - Starbucks is actually a single location formed in a bubble dimention accessed via portals around the world.

After returning, Amanda and I have set about getting our place aligned for domestic blissness, so there really isn't much to tell unless you like to hear about how we arranged the cutlery and wall hangings. But recent breakaway adventures include: Rat City Rollergirls bout 5 - which turned out to be a great time. Dan and Audry - friends from Tucson - have moved to Seattle and so we've set about showing them the town as if we were old citizens of the Emerald City. I've suprised myself at how much I've learned in the short year I've been here.
