Spring Break

Spring has rolled in with leaden clouds from the Pacific, drenching the Sound with the rain that is the life-blood of this green part of the world. Another sign of Spring: construction markers littering the city as crews tear up sidewalks and roadways in elusive attempt to repair the winter's entropy. My block is aglow at night with two dozen blinking road signs, flickering like a chorus of maddened fireflies. The workers are obviously mole-men from deep below the cities streets, because I never see or hear them work, yet at dawn repairs are made, and sidewalks swept clear. It is well known that Microsoft has donated to the city's welfare and now it seems they have mole-men to spare from their diligent task of creating their next operating system.

I am looking forward to better weather - and it has been brilliantly warm and sunny here for days - when I can do some hiking into the mountains. The other day I visited Gas Works park for the first time. Here's a shot of it before being a park, back in the '60s before the invention of color.

Now with the mircle of color, you can see it as it appears today, or in Cameron Crowe's Singles:

In other news, my nefarious valentines plan had come to fruition -- I bought AD a ipod shuffle and filled it with a personalized mix including a special valentine message from me. That's me, the technoromantic. I liked the ipod so much I had to go get one myself about a month later. Now maybe I should start my own audio service `ala pod casting, or my own religious sermonizing service.

You may have missed my new offering. On the right you'll see "Click This", my collection of links to wacky stuff for you kids. Enjoy. Oh and don't miss this preview of the upcoming Episode Three SW flick.
